Daoyin and Qigong are characterized by soft, fluid, and harmonious movements, easy to perform and suitable for everyone. They have been studied since ancient times to facilitate the flow of vital energy throughout the body, loosen joints, tone and oxygenate muscles, and relax the nervous system. The exercises are based on the "methods for nourishing life" (Yangsheng Gong) of thousands of years of tradition, which aimed to promote a long, healthy, and fulfilling existence through dietary recipes, massage, and self-cultivation practices such as art, poetry, meditation, and physical exercise. By "physical exercise" here, we mean something far deeper and more complex than the term suggests today.

The therapeutic nature of movement is already recognized in the Spring and Autumn Annals of Master Lu, compiled in China in 239 BC, which states: "(In ancient times) when the climate was often cloudy and rainy and the rivers overflowed, everything became damp, gloomy, and cold. Stagnation of blood and qi formed in the human body, while muscles and bones became stiff and aching. For this reason, people used to dance, to dispel (these effects) and reactivate (circulation)."

The first reference to the term Dao Yin appears in a chapter of the book of Zhuang Zi (ca. 369–286 BC). A later commentary on that chapter (by Li Yi) explains the term Dao as "guiding the qi" (Dao Qi) to make it harmonious, and Yin as pulling the body to make it soft. Interestingly, the commentary speaks of making the body soft, suggesting that such exercises should be gentle and relaxed to soften joints and muscles and promote the circulation of blood and qi. If these exercises were too vigorous, they would cause tension and stiffness, impeding the free flow of blood and energy, exhausting the body and failing in their intended purpose.

Tai Chi is an ancient Chinese martial art, dating back to ancient times (540 AD). In keeping with Traditional Chinese Medicine, Tai Chi is meditation and the pursuit of health, in a constantly evolving balance.

Tai Chi aims to awaken energy, both physically and mentally: I gather my energy, my attention, my gaze, my breathing, relaxing my body. I share my energy with others. I unite my energies with those around me. I strive for harmony, in a continuous exchange between the internal and external universes.

At the heart of this practice is "Body Awareness," or the experience of being centered on listening to our body in motion. The harmonious execution of slow movements facilitates, moment by moment, the learning of figures inspired by the natural movements of water, animals, and plants. These body sequences help overcome joint and muscle problems, promote balance, a calm mind, memory, and spatial orientation.

Tai Chi is both a physical exercise and a martial art, but while practicing it, we aren't in competition with others or ourselves; rather, we become accustomed to listening to and coordinating with others. Tai Chi thus fosters interpersonal relationships within groups of practitioners.

The Tai Chi Course offers a practice in which the following are performed:
    - Breathing and relaxation exercises – Dao Yin
    - Meditation figures – Zhan Zhuang Gong
    - Slow rotary and spiral movement exercises – Chan Sii Jin
    - Pair work exercises: TuiShou
    - Martial forms: Lao Jia Yi Lu and 18
